We are a ragtag team built around a strong engineering culture. We believe in the power of software to improve our lives.

Our story is that we came together from different professional experiences, but we were united in the idea that modern growth companies are still misunderstood by the traditional financial services. And therefore they get poorer outcomes with insurance, with credit, and most of finance.

We can make this significantly better. And that's the problem we are in love with.

These growing companies are the engine of our economy.

We have to do better for them.
They deserve more.

That's why we value ground up thinking. We go ask the fundamental question. We take the hard steps to build up the process methodically (the "full stack" approach is core to our DNA). Our respective experiences makes this yin-yang work well.

We believe in small teams that work highly effectively rather than bloated structures. We don't create hierarchies, because we only answer to the Customer.

We really get excited to talk to customers to learn their frustrations. It's a bit awkward at times, but it's totally worth it.

We believe that it's the job of every employee in a startup to be fighting for the rights of the Customer. Questioning and challenging whether we are truly serving them in the best way, or we can get sharper? And that means that we are all making important decisions everyday that affect the experience we deliver to our customer: a thousand micro-decisions from the simplest thing like the choice of words on a site, to the complex things like pricing structures for what we serve them.

We work hard to get these decisions right. It's not about the easiest or the most convenient decision. Sometimes, it's the best decision for the customer, is going to create a tougher path for us. That's fine. We walk through that uncomfortable forest because that is the right thing to do. That's what great execution means – and we know you only get points for execution in this game (we gotta find that golden fleece).

We have some strong habits here, that help us be disciplined in how we use our time. We critically think about our work through the agile lens – in fact we like the analogy of the skateboard that leads to the scooter to the bike to car et al. That's the discipline we love.

We aren't into flashy things – we cautiously think about how we spend our resources, because ultimately that just means our unnecessary spending becomes a cost to our customer. So we question things, and see how we can be more efficient. More mindful. More disciplined.

We love Slack over Emails (and yes, quite adamant that we use threads within Slack.. we aren't animals here).

We work hard, but also know what offline time means. We encourage our people to stay physically fit. We are curious about funky hobbies. We take our kids to school. We want you to take time to recharge on the weekends. But when it's work time – we make the most of that window and deliver. That's what execution with intensity means to us.

We have a culture of writing here (as evident from this post). We believe it helps properly distill our thoughts and more importantly create better institutional memory for the future. This also means, you should be able to read stuff like this and make it all the way through.

We are going to be here for a while. It's game time.

We aren't going anywhere.
